Le Marais is the ideal place for some shopping. It’s the only place on Sundays to go because all shops in Paris are closed except for le Marais. This neighborhood used to be the jewish quarter with quaint kosher delis and bakeries, but these have been replaced with nice small designer boutiques, perfume shops, galleries, cafes and trendy bistros. Still, there are falafal shops with on Rue des Rosiers you will find L’As du Falafal, claiming to be the best. Rue Vieille du temple and Rue des Francs Bourgeois are especially recommended for boutique shopping and are closed to motorized traffic on Sunday. Do not forget to take a look at Place des Vosges while strolling through le Marais.
